Solartech movements are available in six version.
Follow the sun – eternal source of power
All models in the Solartech Series 200 and 2000 are equipped with rechargeable batteries and solar cells, eliminating the need to change batteries.
The solar movements with classic functions have a dark power reserve of eight months, while the chronographs have five months. However, should the battery run out, three minutes of sunlight are enough to run the watch for one day, while 10 hours of sunlight will deliver full capacity. The solar cells capture energy from both sunlight and artificial light.
Another advantage of the Solartech Series is its advanced technology: the battery has overcharge protection, and deep discharging is prevented. Together, these features help ensure reliable and precise performance, and a long service life.
How does a Solartech movement work?
Beneath the dial of a solar watch are solar cells, which absorb the energy of the sun or another light source and convert it into electrical energy. This energy is then stored in a rechargeable battery from which the watch draws its power. Watches designed with solar movements can therefore be independently recharged, helping to protect the environment.
We recommend watch manufacturers use dials with a minimum light transmission of 25 %.
