Xtratech – Cosmos of Multifunction Movements

Strictly speaking, we use the term multifunctional movement as soon as a timepiece offers other functions in addition to displaying the time. However, this definition can vary depending on the provider. At Ronda, we set the bar a bit higher and call the following extras multifunctions:

• Big date with direct switching
• Day-Date
• Weekday display
• Week display
• Month display
• Moon phase
• GMT or second time zone
• Tides
• Alarm
• Retrograde

If a movement has a chrono – i.e. a stop function – in addition to the multifunction, the chronograph defines the assignment.

The complex multifunctions present 3 or 4 eyes on the dial; other models have 2 eyes or 1 eye. However, some functions are visually displayed differently; for example, the moon phases by a disc, the calendar week or tides by hands, or days by retrograde.

Our quartz multis are available in 8¾''', 10½''', 11½''', 12½''', 13¼''' and 15''' dimensions. Now you can find all multifunctions compactly in the Xtratech line; i.e. movements of the series 5xx, 7xx, 6000.B, 4000, 7000 as well as the series X.

The trend for classic complications like the moon phase is unbroken. With the new creations of colors and shapes on our moon discs, you simply bring a breath of fresh air into your collections:

The modern design with four-pointed stars features a cool champagne printed on rich midnight blue. This look is also available in the combination of anthracite and silver. –- The classic design with five-pointed stars in dark gold on medium blue also remains in the range.

All movements are available in Swiss Made version and many products are also available in Swiss Parts version, manufactured in the Far East. What they all have in common is Swiss technology, high quality workmanship and precision. In addition, all Multis are repairable.
