RONDA, one of the world’s leading producers of mechanical and precision electronic watch movements, is pleased to introduce the RONDA Solartech Series 2000, a new collection of Swiss Made solar-powered quartz chronograph movements that end the need for routine battery replacement.
Follow the sun: an eternal source of power
The Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers take the hassle and expense out of battery replacement with rechargeable batteries and solar cells that capture both sunlight and indoor light. As well as delivering reliable, accurate performance, even without regular exposure to light, these movements significantly reduce battery waste.
The Solartech Series 2000 Chronographs also feature RONDA’s innovative QuickStart Function technology, which ensures that in the event that the battery’s power reserve is discharged, the movements will spring into life again after just one minute of exposure to sunlight. Assuming sunny conditions, the battery will have enough power to run for a day after three minutes’ exposure to sunlight, and will reach its full five-month capacity in 10 hours.

Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers have been designed to minimize disruption to design and production schedules of watch manufacturers. They’re fully compatible with RONDA’s most trusted 5030.D and 5040.D chronographs, which means they can be adapted to existing models, saving on design time and reducing time to market.
RONDA’s innovative mono-solar cell technology adds further flexibility, giving designers the freedom to choose dial layouts and materials.

Additional developments prevent deep discharge and sudden drops in performance. Together, these advances ensure reliability, accuracy and a long service life of the movement.

To mark the start of summer, Ronda launches Solartech, a product line with solar-powered quartz movements.
For the power supply, the movement uses sunlight and stores the
converted electrical energy. Because the solar movement eliminates the need for frequent battery changes, the new line offers watchmakers an environmentally friendly option.
With the launch of Solartech, watchmakers can choose from four 11½'' movements. In July, the sales launch of the calibre 215 with 3 hands and date takes place. Three more models with classic functions will follow by autumn. All of them are exclusively Swiss Made.

If watch manufacturers would like to forgo the chrono functions yet don't want to do without the classic design of a stopwatch and like timepieces in an impressive size, a glance at the Ronda xtratech caliber X30 is worthwile. The new multifunction in 13¼''' is equipped with a day indicator, 24 hours, a small second and date.
In addition to functionality and appearance the X30 also takes the economic aspect into account: the day and date are corrected by stem.
The X30 with a battery life of 60 months is available as Swiss Made or Swiss Parts version.
