(Lausen, Switzerland, March 18, 2010) - RONDA is adding two more new products to its "Mastertech" line this summer.
Since 2006, the Swiss manufacturer of watch movements has introduced various big date and retrograde models to the market. Particularly the asymmetrical creation of caliber 7004.P has generated lively interest among customers, as its arrangement of functions allows sophisticated dial designs. The demand for large watches has grown steadily over the last few years. RONDA is therefore launching at the Baselworld 2010 show its "Mastertech 8000" line, offering the watch making industry for the first time XXL quartz chronographs in the overlarge 15''' (33.80 mm) size. This will give the manufacturers fresh impulses for large timepieces with chronograph functions.
The 8040.B model features a classic design with three eyes at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, as well as a big 3.6 x 5.5 mm date indicator. The caliber 8040.N, on the other hand, hits the lights not only with its chronograph but also with a retrograde day indicator at 12 o'clock.

A Turbulent Year in 2009

The effects of the global economic crisis were felt strongly within the RONDA Group as well. Production had to adapt to the new market requirements, but without loss of know-how. As a mid-size company, RONDA was able within minimum time to respond readily and flexibly to the changed situation and reduce inventory to a very low level by the end of 2009. The lead times for all products have since returned to the customary standards, permitting watch manufacturers to react very quickly to an increase in demand.

Better Outlook for 2010

The broad and appealing product portfolio of high-quality quartz movements constitutes an optimum base line for covering the diversity of customer requirement in the current year. From the affordable 3-hand movement to complex chronographs, RONDA offers all that is needed to make up a successful collection of timepieces. The development of new products is pursued with highest priority, assuring that RONDA will continue to deliver attractive innovations.
